Physical Activity Course (PAC) Program
Welcome to Oregon State University's Recreational Dive Program.
Our program exists to certify and train those that wish to pursue SCUBA diving both in a professional and recreational capacity and provide the resources and tools to practice SCUBA diving and achieve PADI certifications.
Equipment rental
Dive Center hours are currently by appointment only.
The OSU Academic and Recreational Dive Center rents gear, equipment, and air fills to current OSU employees and students with active OSU ID numbers.
Students and employees may register for multiple sets of gear.
Non-OSU employees or students may still register for air fills.

Program Opportunities
PAC SCUBA DiveMaster Leadership Certification
The Divemaster Leadership Certificate will take you through Level 3. Experience guided teacher training and practice, opportunities to lead diving courses, and prepare yourself to work in the SCUBA industry.
PAC Recreational Diving Courses
From Open Water certification to Specialties, you'll be ready to dive on your next coastal or tropical vacation!
PAC offers Recreational PADI SCUBA Certifications in the following:
- SCUBA: Open Water | PAC 242
- SCUBA: Advanced Open Water | PAC 243
- SCUBA: Rescue Diver | PAC 244
- SCUBA: Special Topics | PAC 245 including Deep Water, Altitude, and Night Diving
- PADI Divemaster Training | PAC 299
OSU Scientific Diving
- PAC SCUBA courses are a prerequisite for anyone interested in conducting scientific research. Move through Level 1 and 2 of our Divemaster Leadership Certificate track to become a PADI Divemaster and advance your career!
- Any university employee, or person(s) conducting scientific diving under the auspices of OSU, must meet OSU standards and policies and have their diving approved by the OSU Diving Control Board. See more details.
