Graduate Mentoring Guide for Students
We often use the terms advisor and mentor interchangeably, but they are not the same.
In addition to your program handbook, you will be provided with a COH Graduate Mentoring Resource: Student Guide.
This guide will clearly define the multiple roles that faculty will have in your professional and academic development. It encourages you to develop a mentoring relationship with your advisor, set clear expectations with your advisor, and cultivate a team of mentors to get the support you need during graduate school. A team of mentors is essential to your success in graduate education, and you will want to identify multiple mentors to support your development.
The guide and accompanying resources also include important information on how to address problems if they arise.
