PAC 299 SCUBA: Divemaster Training 1 & 2

The following two courses are an entry level PADI certification course for preparation to instruct SCUBA; lecture, lab, open water experience. Both courses must be completed consecutively.

Scuba Divemaster: PART 1

  • This is a 1 credit 8-week class which is the first of a two-term series designed to prepare students to assist in SCUBA instruction. Lecture topics include: Role and characteristics of a PADI divemaster, supervising diving activities, assisting with student divers, diver safety and risk management, specialized skills and activities, dive theory, divemaster conducted  programs, the business of diving and your career, awareness of the dive environment.  Students must have 40 logged dives by the end of the class.

Scuba Divemaster: PART 2

  • This is a 2 credit 8-week class which is the second of a two-term series designed to prepare students to assist in SCUBA instruction. Lecture topics include: Role and characteristics of a PADI divemaster, supervising diving activities, assisting with student divers, diver safety and risk management, specialized skills and activities, dive theory, divemaster conducted  programs, the business of diving and your career, awareness of the dive environment. Students must have 60 logged dives by the end of the class.

Additional fee: $160 per term.
