What inspired or interested you about athletic training? And why did you choose Oregon State University?

My interest in athletic training stems from a desire to ensure athletes have the support they need during injuries, enabling them to recover fully and return to their sport. I am passionate about advocating for athletes' overall health and well-being, and making a meaningful impact in their recovery processes. I chose Oregon State University for its outstanding reputation in athletic training and commitment to developing knowledgeable clinicians through hands-on experiences.

What are you doing in your internship and/or what is your main project?

During my time with the Western Oregon University football team, I assisted with injury assessments, created rehabilitation programs, provided modalities, and helped athletes feel and perform their best in practice and games. This hands-on experience has allowed me to develop my skills in athletic training while actively supporting athletes in their performance and recovery.

What do you see as the greatest value of your athletic training internship? Or, what have you learned the most in your internship?

The greatest value of my internship lies in the hands-on experience I gained working directly with athletes, enhancing my practical skills in injury assessment and rehabilitation. I've learned the importance of viewing the athletes as individuals first, focusing on their holistic health rather than just their athletic performance.
