Steps to a strong application for graduate school
Public Health Undergraduate Internships
Some graduate degree programs our alumni have been accepted into after getting their undergrad public health degree.
- Master of Public Health (MPH)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)
First Year at Oregon State
- Select an option of GEN, HPHB or HMP
- Set up a plan with your academic advisor
- Get involved in student clubs, organizations, volunteering
Second Year
- Do Job shadows
- Do informational interviews
- Identify programs, careers and graduate schools of interest
- View HPHB Faculty and contact them for opportunities in research
Third Year
- Develop a strong resume and identify faculty or supervisors; key people who can write letters of recommendation
- Take a course on grad prep, such as GRAD 420
- Continue to add to resume with involvement, volunteering, exploring internship options
- Apply to accelerated programs through Oregon State
Fourth Year
- Identify graduate programs to apply to
- Apply to graduate programs
- Look into internships and apply
- Complete internship
- Complete degree
