What inspired you to study public health, and why did you choose OSU and the College of Health?
The COVID-19 pandemic sparked my interest in public health. Watching how public health was pushed to the forefront showed me just how important the field really is.
What did you do during your internship, and what was your main project?
I primarily entered report information from school immunization records. I also generated and printed exclusion letters for students who would be excluded from school if they weren't up to date on their immunizations.
What do you see as the greatest value of your internship?
I learned how state and county health departments interact. The greatest value was understanding just how important the work is — even when it can feel redundant at times.
What has your experience at OSU and in the College of Health been like? Any standout moments?
Overall, my experience has been positive. Many of my professors have been extremely helpful in shaping my understanding of public health systems.
