What inspired or interested you about your field of study? And why did you choose OSU/the college?

I have always been interested in exercise and helping people be the best version of themselves. I started in kinesiology and explored different fields until I found strength and conditioning coaching. I've loved it ever since! I chose OSU because of its proximity to home and I love Corvallis.

What are you doing in your internship and/or what is your main project?

I led group functional strength training classes and built connections within the community. I also had meetings with the owner and coaches about strength training exercises, and how to effectively lead classes.

What do you see as the greatest value of your internship? Or, what have you learned the most in your internship?

Real-world experience! College is a great place to build background knowledge but I strongly believe you will learn the most by actually doing and practicing in the real world.

I learned how to make lasting connections. I built my confidence in teaching and improved my ability to clearly explain and help others through exercises.

What do you think of your experience at OSU/in the college so far? Any stand-out experiences?

There are so many opportunities and the kinesiology faculty and staff are outstanding! All my professors have been really helpful and genuinely care about my understanding of the material.
