Oregon’s early learning workforce plays a critical role in promoting the well-being of Oregon’s young children.
Approximately 24,000 persons make up the early learning workforce, those who work directly with young children and their families in regulated child care facilities. This work force is similar to the number working in real estate or wood products. About three-quarters of the workforce is employed in centers with the rest in large and small home-based programs.
