Community Belonging Measurement Project
Abstract
This community-based project measures belonging and resilience in a representative sample of Central Oregonians. We began by developing and pilot testing a survey, with input from community members across 20 local organizations serving Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties, and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. A baseline community-wide survey and focus groups with culturally-specific groups will be administered in 2023. Findings will be co-interpreted with community partners to guide strategies and investments to strengthen belonging and resilience. The team is seeking funds to conduct a follow-up measure two years later and provide guidance on repeating the measure in the future.
