Abstract

Roots of Resilience aims to strengthen trauma-responsive practice in early care and education (ECE) through professional supports (course, coaching) for teachers working in home- and center-based programs. The first study used mixed methods to examine feasibility, learning and application with 17 ECE teachers from family child care, centers, and Head Start (Lipscomb et al., 2019). Current research utilizes a waitlist control group to examine outcomes including teachers’ knowledge, practices, and self-regulation, as well as teacher-child interactions and relationships, and children’s stress, engagement, learning, and development.
