As of Spring 2021, the CPHHS will restrict Public Health (H) and Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) courses offered via Ecampus during phase 1 of registration for Fall, Winter and Spring terms.
The CPHHS made this decision to better meet the needs of Ecampus students and ensure access to their major courses.
The CPHHS offers three degrees fully online: HDFS – General Option, Kinesiology, and both options in Public Health. There are over 400 students enrolled in these programs.
All Ecampus Public Health (H) courses required for the Public Health degree will be restricted to Ecampus students during phase 1 of registration.
All HDFS courses required for the HDFS degree will continue to be restricted to Ecampus students during phase 1 of registration.
This does include specific Public Health courses that are optional or required for KIN, NUTR, and HDFS majors.
Specific courses impacted:
Corvallis campus courses that are “remote” due to COVID-19 will not be restricted.
NUTR courses offered via Ecampus will not be restricted at this time.
KIN courses offered via Ecampus will not be restricted.
HHS 231 offered via Ecampus will not be restricted.
The restrictions do not include the following Public Health (H) courses:
If you need to take a specific course in order to graduate and it is only available via Ecampus, you can complete the appropriate HDFS or PH “Class Override” form located at Undergraduate Student Forms.
Make sure to note that you are concerned about completing the course for graduation purposes.
Register for Corvallis-campus sections initially during Phase I of Registration. You can then register or waitlist for an Ecampus section during Phase II of Registration. While not guaranteed, there are typically open spaces in most courses.
If you believe that you have extenuating circumstances, please complete the HDFS or PH “Class Override” form located at Undergraduate Student Forms.
Work with your Academic Advisor to discuss the possibility of shifting a course to a future term and to identify a Corvallis campus course that you can register for during Phase I.
If you are not able to shift courses to a future term or identify an alternative course, please complete the HDFS or PH “Class Override” form located at Undergraduate Student Forms.
If you are interested in taking a course via Ecampus for another reason, please register for Corvallis-campus sections initially during Phase I of Registration. You can then register or waitlist for an Ecampus section during Phase II of Registration as space allows.
If you believe that you have extenuating circumstances, you can complete the HDFS or PH “Class Override” form located at Undergraduate Student Forms.
