Barry Braun, PhD, professor and head of the department of health and exercise science and executive director of the Human Performance Clinical Research Laboratory at Colorado State University.

Barry Braun did his Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley and post-doctoral work at Stanford University Medical School. He was professor and director of the Energy Metabolism Laboratory at UMASS Amherst for 14 years. Since 2014, he is a professor and head of the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Academy of Kinesiology. Dr. Braun’s research is focused on how the nutritional and pharmacologic context modulate the effects of exercise to oppose insulin resistance and prevent type-2 diabetes.
