In the research option of Oregon State’s MS program in human development and family studies (HDFS), you’ll explore critical questions about human development, relationships and family systems.

A research-focused graduate experience
As a student in the HDFS research option, you’ll design and complete a thesis that demonstrates your ability to ask meaningful questions, apply research methods and contribute to the field of human development and family sciences.
You’ll graduate prepared to:
- Pursue a PhD in HDFS or a related field
- Join research teams in universities, nonprofits or government agencies
- Lead evaluation and policy initiatives aimed at improving family well-being
