HTKS-R

The HTKS has now been revised to include a downward extension, called the Head-Toes-Knees-Shoulders-Revised (HTKS-R). This version requires children to first complete a verbal 'opposites' section before continuing through the original HTKS 3-part version. The HTKS-R has been shown to reduce floor effects and is a valid and reliable measure of self-regulation in young children (Gonzales et al., 2021).

The HTKS-R works best with children ages 3-8 and takes about 5-8 minutes to administer.

The HTKS-R task is currently available in 15 languages, including: Chinese-Cantonese, Chinese-Traditional, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Korean, Luxembourgish, Norwegian, Spanish, Farsi, Polish, Portuguese, and Turkish.

If you would like to receive this revised version of the task, please complete the online HTKS-R request and registration form.
