Why did you choose OSU for your Public Health graduate degree?

I chose OSU for my Public Health graduate degree because of its strong focus on global health, which aligns with my passion for addressing health disparities worldwide. The program's emphasis on research, community engagement, and the opportunity to work with diverse populations made it the perfect fit for my goals.

What is your favorite course you have taken so far?

H 511 Community, Culture and Global Health

Most memorable experience in the program?

The College of Health orientation was very personal, and people were very welcoming. It was fun to interact with so many like-minded, intelligent researchers.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a graduate degree in Public Health?

Be passionate! It’s also important to stay curious and embrace learning both in the classroom and from the communities you aim to serve.

If you were to recommend the MPH or Public Health PhD program to a close friend, what would you say?

I'd say the MPH program is perfect if you want to gain hands-on experience and practical skills to address real-world public health challenges. It offers a great balance between theory and practice, preparing you to make a meaningful difference in diverse communities. If you aim to continue striving to achieve and work towards public health challenges, a PhD will kickstart your career as an independent researcher. The skills that you learn during both these programs will definitely help you to carve out your public health career.

Is there anything else that you would like to comment on or say about the OSU Public Health graduate programs?

OSU is a research-driven university. If you are passionate about research, OSU is where you belong. It's a melting pot of several cultures and communities and is highly inclusive. There are a plethora of programs and specializations to choose from, and the faculty are extremely knowledgeable.
