Why did you choose OSU for your Public Health graduate degree?
I chose it specifically because my advisor's research interests align with mine.
What is your favorite course you have taken so far?
H 547 GIS and Public Health
Most memorable experience in the program?
The most memorable experience I've had was the pseudo-poster session last spring in my advanced epidemiologic methods course. I really enjoyed this experience because I don't have extensive experience with poster sessions, and this provided a low-stakes opportunity to discuss my research with classmates and colleagues
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a graduate degree in Public Health?
I would advise individuals to think very critically about why they are choosing to pursue a public health graduate degree and to consider what health issues they feel most strongly about.
If you were to recommend the MPH or Public Health PhD program to a close friend, what would you say?
I would encourage individuals to apply to an MPH or PhD program at Oregon State because there is excellent faculty support. I also feel as though the coursework is extremely applied, and I have learned many valuable research skills through my classes at OSU.
Is there anything else that you would like to comment on or say about the OSU Public Health graduate programs?
I've had a great experience so far. The professors at this school are great to work with and my classmates are absolutely wonderful.
