Workforce development

Oregon State University Center for Health Innovation

We strengthen the public health and human sciences workforce for practicing and future professionals.

Today and Into the Future

We work with a variety of internal and external partners to strengthen the current and future health workforce, with a particular eye on addressing emerging health workforce needs.

For Community Health Workers (CHWs)

We provide high-quality entry-level and professional development training for CHWs. For all courses, we use an online platform that follows the standards of our award-winning, nationally ranked OSU Ecampus. Additionally, our partnership with OSU Extension Service’s Family & Community Health program ensures that Extension faculty are available as local connectors and supporters for CHWs in training and practice.

For Employers

We engage employers and other leaders in industry, government and academia to explore opportunities for developing public health and health sciences workforces. Depending on the opportunity, we may a) connect employers or other leaders with expert faculty in our college, or b) work with employers or other leaders to design, develop, or deliver workforce development products or services.  Examples of products and services include online courses, face-to-face trainings and workshops or conferences.
