Globally, medically vulnerable populations experience age-related illness; mental health issues; tropical, chronic and non-infectious/infectious diseases; and health-related consequences from climate change and war.
Pursing an MPH in global health will ignite your desire to address public health issues with a critical eye and help alleviate health disparities in all corners of the world.
Your experience pursuing an MPH global health degree
As an MPH global health student, you’ll:

Course topics include maternal and child health, refugee issues, water and sanitation, human trafficking, food security and economic globalization.

MPH curriculum and coursework
The Oregon State MPH – global health program requires 60 credit hours (about 40 semester credits), and culminates with an integrative learning experience. It does not require a thesis.
You’ll get hands-on experience, build professional contacts and learn from experts in the field as part of a required 200-hour professional internship. You’ll be guided along the way by a dedicated MPH internship coordinator.

With your MPH from Oregon State, you can help eliminate health disparities using data-driven research and educational outreach in a variety of global and local organizations, including social justice and human rights-based organizations, immigrant and refugee health organizations, disaster relief organizations, research and academic institutions, or in government agencies.

Affordability

OSU’s MPH options are among the most reasonably priced in the Pacific Northwest.
We have reduced the tuition cost by nearly $4,000 to help address affordability and reduce barriers for the future of public health.
The Oregon State MPH participates in the Western Regional Graduate Program. You may be eligible to save about $8,000 in tuition over the course of the program.

Accreditation
In 2014, our college was accredited by the Council for Education in Public Health – the first in Oregon. This distinction provides our students with more resources, more opportunities to engage in research, and faculty experts who specialize in a variety of public health topics.
