Should you choose S/U grading?
If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, we strongly recommend talking to your advisor before choosing S/U (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory) grading.
This choice could cause problems that might interfere with your goals.
- Are you trying to raise your GPA or earn more credits to get or keep financial aid?
- Are you trying to raise your GPA or earn more credits to be eligible for sports?
- Are you trying to raise your GPA to get off academic warning or probation?
- Are you retaking a class you failed before?
- Do you need to improve your GPA to keep a scholarship?
- Does your scholarship or grant require you to take a certain number of credits with letter grades (A-F)?
- Are you planning to transfer to another college?
- Are you taking a class required for graduate or professional school (like med school or law school)? If yes, does that school require a letter grade (A-F) for that class?
