Cancer Risk in Children with Birth Defects

Sue Carozza, Ph.D., is a cancer epidemiologist with over 15 years of experience in public health practice and research. Her research is primarily focused on identifying environmental and genetic risk factors for childhood cancers.

Sue has also been involved in the development and application of GIScience in epidemiology to determine spatial relationships between disease incidence and known environmental hazards.

She recently completed a study funded by NIH to evaluate the risk of childhood cancers associated with agricultural pesticide exposures and is also a co-investigator on a study of childhood cancers associated with pollution in Texas watersheds.
