EHSC Pilot Grant to Examine Climate-Related Devices and Impacts on Health

Dr. Hystad was awarded an Environmental Health Sciences Center (EHSC) pilot for “Cleaner Air and Heat Relief: A Multi-faceted Evaluation of Oregon’s Air Filter and AC Device Deployment and Its Health Impacts on Vulnerable Populations.

This research will:

1.) Develop and Deliver a Pre-Intervention Survey for Summer 2024 for the Oregon Health Authority Air Cleaner and AC Unit Deployment program;

2.) Create a Database of Prior Years Air Cleaner and AC Unit Participants; and

3.) Develop Protocols and Permissions for Linking Air Cleaner and AC Participants' to Medicaid, Hospital Discharge, and Death Registry Data.
