Will Massey delivers OSU-Cascades Science Pub Talk on youth sports and mental health

Will Massey, associate professor of kinesiology, delivered a Science Pub Talk at OSU-Cascades on May 12 titled "The Stolen Game: Youth Sports and Mental Health." The talk explored how youth sport has become increasingly visible, expensive and intense — and what emerging research says about the impact on young people's mental health.

Will engaged the audience in a discussion about what has gone wrong in how America approaches youth sport, and more importantly, what communities can do to give the game back to kids.

His talk represented the College of Health's commitment to translating research into public conversation on issues that matter to families and communities.
