Hillary Smith defends dissertation, accepts tenure-track faculty position at University of Wyoming
Hillary Smith, a doctoral candidate in the College of Health's global health program, has successfully defended her dissertation and accepted a tenure-track assistant professor position in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Wyoming.
In her final term at Oregon State, Hillary was also a recipient of the Dissertation Completion Award.
Hillary's research focuses on infectious diseases, including neglected tropical diseases, that disproportionately affect marginalized populations around the world. She integrates anthropological and epidemiological methods to produce findings that are culturally grounded and actionable for public health practice.
