College collects food, raises money for Basic Needs Center
During the Great Give Off, the college raised $1,541.90 for the OSU Basic Needs Center and collected 58lbs (67 items) in its food drive. Of this, 1,689 pennies were donated in support of teams through Penny Olympics. Please visit the Giving page if you'd like to continue giving.
Here is how the money will be used:
- $25 – groceries for two pantry shoppers
- $50 – gluten-free bread for students with dietary needs
- $75 – a week’s supply of pinto beans, a community favorite
- $100 – lentils to stock the pantry for the week
- $150 – tofu available for students each week
- $200 – the week’s supply of spaghetti
- $400 – all produce distributed weekly
- $550 – whole wheat bread for one week
- $750 – basmati rice for a full week
- $1,000 – ($83.34 per month) eggs to sustain one week of pantry operations
