Strengthening public health preceptorship

A journal article was recently published about the Public Health Preceptor ECHO Series, a six-session virtual training for preceptors aiming to build skills and connections.

Authors, including Tonya Johnson, found that the program boosted preceptors' confidence in supporting public health students. Additionally, a grant was submitted to establish a hub for student internship stipends and extend university-sponsored housing to public health students in rural communities. Project ECHO is identified as a promising method for training future public health preceptors.

The Public Health Preceptor ECHO is a collaboration among the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, Oregon State University's MPH program and the Oregon ECHO Network. The third cohort will begin fall 2024. Register for the fall cohort.
