Public health student honored with AYA Award

Public health student Jackie Rodriguez has been selected as a recipient of the 2024 Hattie Redmond Women and Gender Center's AYA Award. Her nomination was submitted by Ashley Vaughn and Kari-Lyn Sakuma. Congratulations, Jackie!

AYA, OSU’s Women of Color Initiative, is named after the Adinkra symbol for fern. The fern is a hardy plant that can grow in difficult places. It represents endurance, resourcefulness, courage and the will to persist even when adverse circumstances make it difficult. This award recognizes and celebrates graduating students who have actively contributed to the mission and vision of AYA. Overall the individuals receiving this award have shown a passion and love that embodies the spirit of AYA.
