Workforce Development project launched
OCHI has launched a Spanish-English Health Care Interpreter Training, in partnership with PACE, and with a generous gift from Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization. This OHA-approved training program prepares participants to become qualified or certified health care interpreters in Oregon.
So far, we’ve had 30 students in 2 cohorts with a 93% pass rate. Fifteen students are already on the OHA Registry as Qualified Health Care Interpreters. Felicity Ratway designed and instructs the course with support from Sandi Phibbs, Oralia Mendez, Araceli Mendez and Kaycee Headley.
