Academic interests
Dr. Ramsha Hamid's primary research examines psychosocial processes in cancer survivorship, with a focus on partner outcomes, depression, and dyadic coping. She is currently conducting a systematic literature review on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions aimed at reducing fatigue among breast cancer patients. Her broader scholarly interests include stress communication, caregiver well-being, and couples-based approaches to improving cancer-related mental health.
Biography
Dr. Ramsha Hamid is a second year PhD student in Health Promotion and Health Behavior at Oregon State University’s College of Health. She is a licensed medical doctor from Pakistan and holds an MPH from Khyber Medical University.
Before joining OSU, she served as a Medical Instructor at multiple medical colleges in Pakistan and as the Youth Secretary for the Provincial Public Health Association (KP), contributing to community health programs, training initiatives, and policy engagement. She also completed one year of Intern Doctor Training at Lady Reading Hospital with rotations in internal medicine, cardiology, pediatric surgery, and emergency care.
At OSU, she teaches undergraduate public health courses as both an Instructor of Record and Graduate Teaching Assistant.
Outside of her academic work, Ramsha is known for her extroverted and energetic personality. She enjoys socializing, community volunteering, and engaging in public speaking opportunities that allow her to connect with and inspire others.
