Academic interests
I’ve been teaching nutrition at OSU since the 2014-2015 school year. Prior to that I was at UC Davis where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science, master’s degree in Public Health, and PhD in Nutrition with an emphasis in Global Nutrition. After graduate school, I remained at UC Davis where my research focused on micronutrient supplementation of pregnant women and infants in low-income countries in order to improve health outcomes of moms and kids. I also researched intestinal microbiota, breast milk oligosaccharides, and bioactive breast milk proteins and how those impact the health of infants. At OSU I’ve made education the focus of my career. I enjoy the challenge of getting non-Nutrition majors interested in nutrition, while passing on knowledge of more in-depth content to the next generation of nutrition professionals. I’m passionate about nutrition and love learning more about the ever-changing field of nutrition through questions from and conversations with students.
