What inspired or interested you about your field of study? And why did you choose OSU/the college?
HDFS—human services reflects the core of who I am! I feel most myself when I am able to make the lives of others easier or better in any way, shape or form.
Choosing OSU is a funny story. I did not think I was going to college due to financial reasons so I applied to OSU to say I was rejected. Instead, I received an acceptance letter and life-changing scholarships that I could not turn down. This has been the happiest accident of my life.
Tell us about your time at Oregon State and in the college. Is there someone or something who/that helped you be successful?
My time here at OSU has been transformative with many amazing memories! I value the time I had to grow not only as a human but the humans I have met along the way. I have created many bonds and connections with individuals that helped shape my experience at OSU.
Tasha Galardi, I deeply value your authenticity and compassion with every interaction. Teresa Ashford, thank you for being my Survivor buddy. Kelly Chandler, you are beyond amazing with so much talent. Lindsay Biga, your approach to teaching and connection with students is a recipe for major success.
What are your post-college dreams/plans?
My post-college plan is to continue working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and build my experience and income to help fulfill my dream of owning a house. I plan on seeing where my career goes and weigh out the options as opportunities arise.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Make this experience your own! Take the time to self-reflect and allow yourself to embrace who you are and what you stand for!
