Biography
Roberta has spent more than 30 years analyzing and teaching health policy and has had a long and varied career working with many state-based agencies, non-profits and health care provider groups focused on issues related to how individuals, families and communities can best create opportunities for health and accessing health care.
As a sociologist and demography professor, she is specifically interested in differences in access to care and health outcomes based on social standing.
Roberta most recently served as the Kansas Health Foundation Professor of Community Health in the School of Family Studies and Human Services, College of Human Ecology, Kansas State University and K-State Research and Extension, and Professor Emerita, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She is currently working nationally with Extension’s national Health and Wellness Committee crafting a vision for Extension’s work to improve health in communities.
