Academic interests

Paige’s research interests include food-health interactions at various levels of complexity that play a role in the etiology of lifestyle diseases. She is more specifically interested in nutrient and phytochemical interactions that play a role in gut health as the barrier between our internal and external world. Currently, her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which xanthohumol, a bioactive constituent in hops, may ameliorate symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease.
