Financial Resources

Financial Resources

Resources to help you pay for school, or manage your time so you can work and still devote the time you need to be successful in class.

Financial aid

Figuring out how to pay for college and related expenses is stressful and can take your focus away from academics. The folks at OSU’s Financial Aid Office can help you to navigate all your options for paying for college; including grants, scholarships, federal work study, subsidized loans, unsubsidized loans and parent loans. Learn about their services and contact the Financial Aid Office.

Undergraduate scholarships

All undergraduate scholarship applications are carefully reviewed, although not all applications are funded. The process is very competitive, so take the time to thoughtfully prepare your application materials.

You are encouraged to apply again even if you are not funded in a given year as in the future you will have more experiences to report and improved skills to better present your case. Learn more about scholarships.

Emergency loans

The Business Affairs Office offers short term emergency loans of up to $350.00. To be eligible to receive an emergency loan students must be enrolled at least half-time, be degree-seeking, and not have any active financial holds.

Applications for emergency loans are available outside of the Cashier's Office in the Kerr Administration building or you can request an emergency loan online.

Any student who has difficulty affording groceries or accessing sufficient food to eat every day, or who lacks a safe and stable place to live, and believes this may affect their performance in a course, is urged to contact the Basic Needs Center (BNC) for support ([email protected], 541-737-3747).

The BNC has a food resources, a textbook lending program, and other resources to help such as access to a kitchen, a shower facility, washers/dryers, and lockers. Visit the Basic Needs Center for more details about benefits available to all students at OSU.

It is easy to get overwhelmed by bills, tracking your spending, and knowing how to best manage your money.

Making informed decisions about managing your money can help to reduce stress associated with finances; making financial literacy an essential part of planning and paying for your education. Sharpen your money management skills.

Child Care Assistance Program

For student parents, not having affordable child care available can result in their inability to attend class regularly. The Child Care Assistance Program at OSU is a need-based program that can pay for up to 50% of child care expenses for the term. Learn more about the Childcare Assistance Program.
