Cynthia Thomson, Ph.D., RD is a nutrition scientist and registered dietitian with a focused research program in lifestyle behaviors and cancer survivorship at the University of Arizona (UA) Cancer Center. She currently leads the multi-site, NRG Lifestyle Intervention in ovarian cancer Enhanced Survival (LIVES), the largest trial ever undertaken to evaluate the role of diet and physical activity in promoting progression-free survival among women previously treated for ovarian cancer. In addition, she has an R01 grant to evaluate the role of di-indolylmethane in enhancing tamoxifen efficacy in breast cancer survivors. She also directs the UA Canyon Ranch Center for Prevention and Health Promotion which promotes healthy lifestyles in Tucsonans.
Cynthia received her Ph.D. from the Interdisciplinary Program in Nutritional Sciences, University of Arizona and completed NCI-sponsored post-doctoral training at the Arizona Cancer Center with a focus on diet and cancer prevention.
