Rigor, reproducibility and data management practices
College of Health and the Office of Research Integrity are hosting a nine-month Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Program on the first Friday of each month. Complete your RCR training requirements in monthly sessions with presentations by OSU faculty and staff. This program will allow recipients of NIH career development and training grants to meet their 8-hour, face-to-face training obligations, and for other researchers to meet their requirements and recommendations from other funding agencies. All are welcome to attend.

Andy Larkin, PhD is a Senior Assistant Research Professor in the Spatial Health Lab at Oregon State University's College of Health. His research focuses on environmental epidemiology and the integration of advanced technologies and big data into exposure assessment. Andy has developed innovative tools such as smartphone applications for air pollution informatics and computational models to predict biological responses to chemical exposures. His current projects include global land use regression models for air pollution prediction and spatial methods for assessing unconventional oil and gas development impacts. With expertise in deep learning, statistical modeling, and geospatial analysis, Andy is dedicated to improving environmental exposure assessments and advancing epidemiological studies.
Clara Llebot Lorente, PhD is an Associate Professor in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University and serves as a Data Management Specialist at OSU Libraries. She holds a PhD in Oceanography from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and specializes in research data management practices. Her work emphasizes the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) for institutional research data policies and improving the adoption of effective data management practices among research teams. Clara has contributed extensively to scholarly publications on data curation, active learning tools for decision-making, and peer review processes for research datasets. Her expertise bridges environmental sciences and library sciences to enhance research transparency and reproducibility.
