Moore Family Center

Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods,
Nutrition and Preventive Health

Real food. Real people. Real change.

Collaboration is at the heart of our work, and we empower and foster collaborations among researchers, students, educators and community stakeholders by using awareness, research, education and services to help improve the lifelong health and well-being of every person, family and community in Oregon.

The Moore Family Center is uniquely poised to achieve this goal, with expertise in nutrition, research, experiential learning and ties to the community – both statewide and nationally through the OSU Extension Service. Working together, we make an impact on the health of our state and nation.

The Moore Family Center sets a new standard for creating a healthy food environment that empowers individuals and communities for generations to come.

Tribute to Bob Moore

The Moore Family Center team wishes to honor the life and legacy of Bob Moore, who died Feb. 10, 2024.

We all send our heartfelt condolences to his family.

Bob and his late wife, Charlee, founded Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods and shared a passion for promoting health and wellness through healthy eating.

This passion and commitment inspired them to establish the Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods, Nutrition and Preventive Health, housed in the College of Health, in 2011.

Their visionary donation has enabled the center to serve families, students and communities throughout Oregon and beyond by advancing nutrition science research, pioneering innovative and high-quality nutrition and food education, and providing outreach programs to reduce health inequity in vulnerable communities.

Bob and Charlee’s vision continues to inspire and impact countless lives through the ongoing work of the Moore Family Center.

Bob will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity and zest for life.
