Tonya joined CPHHS as the MPH Internship Coordinator in March 2020. She brings nearly 25 years experience in the field of community health, working for both academic and public health agencies in Oregon, Washington, and New York City.
She is passionate about working with students, colleagues, partners, and the community to together help improve health for all people. Over the past eight years, Tonya served as a preceptor for 50 interns and practica students while working as the Family and Community Health faculty member for OSU Extension Service Marion and Polk Counties.
She has engaged students in a variety of opportunities to help them strengthen their public health competencies, including developing program plans, facilitating evidence-based programs, providing technical assistance to community-based coalitions, and conducting evaluations.
Tonya is thoroughly excited about the opportunity to work with even more students and faculty, build and strengthen community partnerships, and foster relationships between the College’s academic programs and the Extension Service.
