Svea Olsen

Academic interests

Svea's work broadly focuses on using an equity perspective to promote public well-being among children, youth, and families. Her previous research included exploring social determinants of health among immigrant and refugee youth in the United States. She is passionate about creatively translating and disseminating research for diverse non-academic audiences, and I care deeply about working to actively increase equity and inclusivity in all settings.

Biography

Svea is a mixed methods researcher committed to promoting public well-being. She has over a decade of experience conducting research through an equity and social-justice lens that focuses broadly on supporting positive outcomes for children, youth, and families. She has expertise in project management, grant writing, information dissemination to diverse audiences, and qualitative, mixed-method, and quantitative study design, data collection, analysis and interpretation.
