Siobhan Van Lanen is a preventative health care professional and wellness educator with over 20 years of experience through body/mind therapies; yoga, bodywork therapy and fitness. Since 1998, she has been a Licensed Massage Therapist (#6949) and a member of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and the American Massage Therapy Association. Siobhan has obtained movement-based certifications including yoga, and completed continuing education classes and programs in the US, Africa, Asia and Europe. Siobhan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Portland State University. Currently, she is working on a Masters in Natural Resources degree at Virginia Tech University Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability and will complete the VT Graduate Certificate in Natural Resources at the end of Summer 2019. Traveling, writing, music, dance, art, animals, biking, kayaking and practicing yoga are some of her interests.
Aspiring to encourage a growth mindset in her PAC 201 Relaxation courses, Siobhan seeks to provide positive motivation and support to students in stress management and maintaining a regular, preventative self-care routine. Siobhan has taught Therapeutic Yoga and Restorative Yoga for the OSU Faculty Staff Fitness program. Presently, she instructs Gentle Yoga classes for OSU Faculty Staff Fitness.
