Academic interests:

Lara is interested in the effects of nutrition and lifestyle factors on bone health. Her current research focuses on (1) the relationship between IGF-1, bone turnover, and bone marrow adiposity in a non-human primate model of voluntary ethanol consumption, and (2) the effects of housing temperature on energy metabolism and bone in mice.
