Academic interests

Abbey Martin received her MPH in health promotion and health behavior in 2020 after earning her bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship in 2018, both from Oregon State University.

She has significant experience in facilitation, program implementation, and collaborating with community partners to ensure equitable public health solutions.

During her graduate program, Abbey created a program plan to reduce substance use disorders and support mental health needs among Portland-area chefs.

Most recently, she has been responsible for implementing multiple federally-funded grants as part of the Coast to Forest project, a collaboration between the OSU Center for Health Innovation and OSU Extension Family and Community Health that aims to promote mental health and prevent substance use across Oregon and the region (OR, WA, ID, AK).
