In Support of PAC Students

This time has been extremely challenging, and we are doing our best to provide supportive physical activity class options for our students.

Physical Activity Course (PAC) Program

We believe your education and well-being are paramount, and we also know that individuals are concerned and interested in what precautions we are taking to support our return to campus.

As with everything, things may change, but based on Oregon State University’s reopening plan, we are using guidelines created by the governor’s office and the Oregon Health Authority in determining our cleaning protocols and behavioral expectations.

Steps

To give you an idea of the planning and precautions we are taking, we are:

  • Placing strict parameters on all classes we will deliver in person as well as increasing our daily cleaning.
  • Requiring face covering use during participation for all classroom activities
  • Reducing the shared equipment use, with additional cleaning for all shared equipment.

Injury & Illness Recovery Pathway (IRP)

  • The IRP is for students who are required to quarantine and unable to be present in class for a two-week period or more.
  • Students should not register into the IRP without notifying and discussing this option with their instructor.
  • Submit pathway registration here: IRP Questionnaire

Remote

In addition, we have selected several courses to deliver remotely and will offer a wide variety of Ecampus courses.

Please visit the Courses page for offerings listed by Modality.

If you have questions, please contact us at pac.fsf@oregonstate.edu or leave us a voicemail at 541-737-3222.

Letter from the Director of PAC

The Physical Activity Course Program will return to a predominately in-person delivery of its physical activity courses, with several remote and Ecampus options for students.  Core to our mission is the idea of quality experiential learning and for many of our courses that is best facilitated through in-person delivery. However, engagement maybe modified to still help address the public health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participation in this fall’s courses will include facial coverings, increased cleaning, and individual safety measures designed for each class. However, because of the unique nature of each course, each course and instructor will have behavioral guidance or policies that must be adhered to for participation in our programs.  These will be discussed and outlined by instructors at the beginning of the term. Your safety, our instructors’ safety and your learning are our highest priorities.

While there may still be apprehension about how to engage this fall term, we are excited to be able to be back on campus getting to interact and share the value that physical activity and well-being has on each and every one of us.

Wishing you good health,
Drew Ibarra
