Briefing from the Rapid Assessment of Pandemic Impact on Development (RAPID) Survey

October 13, 2020

Oregon Child Care and Education Researchers Roundtable, Day 1

Presenter: Philip Fisher, Ph.D., University of Oregon
This presentation describes results from The Rapid Assessment of Pandemic Impact on Development (RAPID) survey. Through ongoing surveys with a nationally representative sample of families, the study seeks to understand how households with young children are handling the COVID-19 pandemic (i.e., how they are doing, what needs they have, what is going well currently and what is not going well). Results cover four general topics: child care usage, household distress, chain reaction of financial and material hardship on child distress, and evidence of racial inequality.
