Get out, get moving, get together and feel better.
Hope to see you for another Walktober in 2023!
Thanks to all who participated in Walktober 2022.
The OSU community logged a total of 79,840,801 steps during October!
We hope you are all inspired to continue to be active
and make wellness a part of each day.
Walk your way to improved wellbeing with Walktober! Whether you are a returning student, new student, faculty, staff, retiree or alum - we welcome you to take part in Walktober 2022!
Walktober is a 31-day health promotion challenge designed to motivate and inspire the OSU community to become more active, anywhere you are.
Cost to participate is $5 for students/alums and $10 for faculty/staff. Your household members can join for free!
Its more than just walking – the Walktober challenge can work with your current fitness plan. Your Faculty Staff Fitness classes, PAC classes or other workouts all fit into Walktober. Simply log any activity in the web tracker or mobile app each day and it will convert any exercise into steps, so all your activity counts!
Our goal is for each participant to walk at least 6,000 steps a day in October. Join and create a team of 4-10 people or fly solo. Either way, this challenge will help you feel healthier and more connected. Participants who hit their goal will also be entered into a weekly prize drawing!
Every Thursday we will have a bonus “whole health” challenge for anyone competing with a team, called Thrive Thursdays. Each team member who completed the bonus challenge earns an extra point.
Walktober is the perfect opportunity to incorporate movement and exercise into your daily routine. Set personal goals, enjoy friendly competition, participate in weekly challenges, and earn prizes as you get outside and increase your step count – whenever, wherever and however you want!
Walktober is sponsored by the Moore Family Center in partnership with Faculty Staff Fitness and PAC.
