Psychosocial Physical Activity Laboratory

Welcome to the The Psychosocial PhysicaL ActivitY (2PLAY) Laboratory at Oregon State University.

In concordance with article 31 of  United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we view play as both a fundamental human right, and as integral to child and youth development.

Our research foci include how to increase access to play, physical activity, and sport in children and adolescents, and how to leverage play, physical activity, and sport, to promote social-emotional development in children and adolescents.

We utilize a transdisciplinary approach to research and practice drawing from research and scholarship in kinesiology, psychology, sociology, child development, and public health.

If you would like more information on our work, or are interested in becoming a prospective student in our lab, please contact William Massey.
