What inspired or interested you about your field of study? And why did you choose OSU/the college?

Having parents who worked in the medical field during the COVID-19 pandemic opened me up to the world of public health, as I was directly affected by the public health responses. I choose OSU because I believe in their mission and promise to create a better future for students and their respective communities.

What are you doing in your internship and/or what is your main project?

In my internship, I completed a food risk factor study. I gathered data from restaurant health inspections, analyzed the data using qualitative and quantitative techniques and produced a report. My report was used to create foodborne illness interventions in the community and drive future legislative change.

What do you see as the greatest value of your internship? Or, what have you learned the most in your internship?

My internship taught me how even the most tedious task can have a huge impact on health and health interventions. Every discipline within public health is important and they all work together for results.

What do you think of your experience at OSU/in the college so far? Any stand-out experiences?

If you're thinking about joining OSU's College of Health, you'll discover a dedicated staff who share your passions and are committed to helping students excel. They are always available to provide support, embodying the belief that all you need to do is ask for assistance.

What are your post-college dreams/plans?

My post-college dream is to work in environmental epidemiology. I enjoy the analysis side of public health and have a passion for environmental health.
