Nikki Gold named National Student Veteran of the Year

Congratulations to Nikki Gold, an undergraduate public health student and U.S. Navy veteran, who was named the 2025 National Student Veteran of the Year by Student Veterans of America. Selected from a pool of more than 600,000 student veterans nationwide, Nikki is the first openly LGBTQ+ veteran to receive this prestigious honor.

Nikki is very deserving of this award. As a Navy Veteran, they bring their lived experience and public health knowledge into their work and advocacy. They support the OSU community in many different ways including working as the Holcomb Center LGBTQ+ Community Coordinator with Military and Veteran Resources. They are also the OSU Student Veteran's Association President. They also were recently selected as a student member of the OSU Board of Trustees.
