HPHB Alumna and current MPH online student nominated for humanitarian award
Hailey Coll has earned recognition as a nominee for the USL Super League, Players Association, Player’s Choice Humanitarian of the Year Award during her inaugural season with Spokane's Zephyr soccer team. As a Health Promotion and Health Behavior alumna currently pursuing her Public Health Practice MPH online, Hailey dedicates approximately 20 hours each week to volunteering with River City Youth, a Spokane-based nonprofit organization focused on supporting local youth and families.
Her volunteer activities include leading the Bike Bus program, where she helps distribute bicycles to children and accompanies them on rides to and from school—even riding with kids to a soccer game last fall. Additionally, Hailey contributes to the organization's urban agriculture and beekeeping initiatives, working with teenagers to teach sustainable food practices. During school breaks, she volunteers at children's camps throughout winter, spring, and summer seasons.
Hailey also serves as the lead coordinator for River City Youth's weekly free food bank, helping distribute hundreds of pounds of food to community members in need.
Her multifaceted approach to community service exemplifies how public health principles can be applied everywhere, demonstrating that everyone can play a vital role in creating healthier, more resilient communities.
