Barrett Welch, a 2019 public health PhD graduate specializing in environmental and occupational health, won the International Society of Environmental Epidemiology's Best Environmental Epidemiology Paper award for 2024.

Barrett's paper, "Racial and ethnic disparities in phthalate exposure and preterm birth: A pooled study of 16 US cohorts," was published by Environmental Health Perspectives.
