Sydelle Harrison

Biography

As a doctoral student, Sydelle Harrison's research interests aimed to identify and address gaps in public health translation at the Tribal level in the Pacific Northwest.

Her community-based research focused on investigating indigenous environmental health priorities and capacity-building with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR).

On campus, she worked to understand factors surrounding cultural competency of university researchers collaborating with a Pacific Northwest Tribe.

She planned to use a mixed-methods approach in her future work to identify strengths for public health capacity-building within Tribal nations.
